International Research Conference

The Conference is organized to mark the 20th anniversary of the College of Communication and Management, which educates engineers specialising in Automation, Robotics and Information Technologies. The goal of the conference is to discuss new directions in scholarly research and industry practice in the fields of automation, robotics and information technologies, as well as innovations in teaching related topics.

ARIT will bring together researchers, academic teachers, as well as industry practitioners for exchange of the latest achievements in state of the art and cost-effect implementations of automation, robotics and information technologies.

Call for Papers

Prospective authors are invited to submit high quality papers and posters in an electronic format using our conference paper submission system. All contributions will be rigorously refereed and selected papers will be published in relevant high quality scholarly technical journals. Electronic proceedings of the conference containing all accepted papers and poster abstracts will be available to all participants at the time of the conference. All accepted papers and posters must be presented at the conference. Therefore, at least one of the coauthors of each paper/poster must be physically present at the conference as a registered and fully-paid participant.

Guidelines Submission

Conference Proceedings

Extended and updated versions of all papers presented at the Conference will be published in the Journal of Automation, Mobile Robotics & Intelligent Systems (JAMRIS) indexed in Scopus.

Extended and updated versions of selected papers presented during the conference and directly focused on novel applications of automation, robotics or information technologies in the construction industry will be considered for publication in Automation in Construction (AUTCON) – an international research journal published by Elsevier and indexed in the Web of Science (ISI Impact Factor = 2,919).

Mirosław J. Skibniewski

Chairman of the International Scientific Committee

Prof. Mirosław J. Skibniewski holds his M.Eng. degree from Warsaw University of Technology (1981), and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Carnegie Mellon University obtained in 1983 and 1986, respectively.  Prior to his academic career he worked as an engineer at Pittsburgh Testing Laboratory, later renamed to Professional Service Industries, the oldest engineering consulting firm in the U.S. founded in 1881.  Prior to his current position at the University of Maryland, he was a professor and associate provost at Purdue University.  Prof. Skibniewski authored the first English language monograph book on the use of robotics in civil engineering and building construction which was published in 1988.  Subsequently, he authored or coauthored over 300 papers in various refereed scientific periodicals and conference proceedings in the U.S. and worldwide.  He has lectured and conducted research in over 35 countries on 5 continents and held endowed chair professorships, distinguished fellowships, Fulbright and Humboldt Foundation grants or visiting professorships at the University of Maryland, Arizona State University, Nanyang Technological University, National University of Singapore, Tsinghua University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Chaoyang University of Technology, Technical University of Munich, Cracow University of Technology, Cardiff University, Loughborough University, University of Central Lancashire, University of Technology Sydney, CSIRO-Australia, Obayashi Corporation, Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, Universidad Austral (Argentina), and others.  A member of affiliate of national academies of engineering in the U.S., U.K., Russia and Poland, he holds an honorary doctorate from Vilnius Gediminas Technical University and a number of professional and scholarly awards including the U.S. National Science Foundation Presidential Young Investigator Award for his research on construction automation and robotics, the American Society of Civil Engineers Walter L. Huber Research Prize for designs and explorations of the feasibility of advanced IT-based technologies for construction project engineering and management, and the Tucker-Hasegawa Award from the International Association for Automation and Robotics in Construction of which he is Past President.   For over 20 years, Prof. Skibniewski has been serving as Editor-in-Chief of Automation in Construction, an international research journal published by Elsevier.

Fees for participation are 850 zł (VAT) per person. Fees cover: taking part in sessions, meals, ceremonial supper, conference materials and post-conference publication. Accommodation is not covered.
